Description
Version Increment
Note: I have had some yet unexplained problems with DVD decoding, specifically really slow, choppy video (if it would play at all). After recompiling without rtc, with libdvdread, and without the builtin mpdvdkit fixed the issue. Unfortunately, I haven't identified which change fixed the problem. I am also seeing problems with xine so it may be only a me problem elsewhere, but be on the lookout when updating. The AC3 demux issues with pre7 seem to have subsided as well. I will update this bug when I get the time to rebuild it a few times. Instructions should be pretty much as they are now, maybe adding the above when it's tested more, and don't forget about X Window prefix notes.

Updated BLFS to MPlayer-1.0rc1
I have not noticed any issues with DVD decoding. Seems okay to me. As far as libdvdread and mpdvdkit goes, libdvdread is used as the primary if it is found (libdv installed also), and mpdvdkit is the fallback. I did not disable RTC.
As far as "X Window prefix notes", I didn't see any. Was I supposed to add some?
I'll keep the ticket open for a few days to see if DJ will comment.

First off, thanks to DJ for his quick involvement with the issue.
It was determined via BLFS-Dev discussion that we would add instructions to create a /usr/X11R6 compatibility symlink and add a note to broken packages (such as this one) about the issue and refer them to the symlink instructions.
Done for MPlayer.
Closing the ticket, as any changes we need to do are now global and not specific to MPlayer
Version update to 1.0rc1
There is also a security patch: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/patches/cddb_fix_20070605.diff
