Description
Berkeley DB support was obsoleted by InnoDB in the 4.1 era and its use is discouraged by MySQL developers (at least, according to the changelog in the Debian package). The BDB code was finally removed in the 5.1.12 (release candidate) version of MySQL.

I added information to the BLFS-6.3 errata page explaining that the BDB backend engine is obsolete.
This should make Alexander happy. :-)

Changing this so that Bruce is assigned to it. He's got the MySQL version update, so this fits right in.

This was fixed with the mysql-5.1.30 update.
See #2705.

I'm changing this ticket to post-6.3. I don't really want to do any testing, nor do I want to take the time to write something on the MySQL page explaining that BDB support is obsolete. I installed the current book version of MySQL and it runs good and passed all the test suites.
I appreciate the report, Alexander, I just want to get 6.3 out.
