Description

Can we use 1.0.18, which is available now, while the kernel stuff is at level 1.0.17?

Summary: alsa 1.0.17alsa 1.0.18

Changed version in title. I've just built -lib and -utils, don't see why newer 1.0.x versions wouldn't be usable.

In alsa-utils-1.0.18 there seems to be a dependency on xmlto. I haven't looked in to this, I just altered my script to build alsa a little later.

Consider pre-creating man pages for alsa-utils and applying as a patch to eliminate the need for xmlto (and dockbook).

alsa-utils-1.0.18-no_xmlto-1.patch put in patches.

I'll take this and investigate, but the resolution may be to stay with the kernel's supported version.

Fixed at revision 7703/4.

alsa-firmware and alsa-oss are still at 1.0.17.

Used the alsa-utils-1.0.18-no_xmlto-1.patch to avoid the xmlto problem.
