Description
URL: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/view/svn/x/x-setup.htm The sequence "Control+Alt+Backspace" no longer appears to work, due to upstream changes. Try instead: '"Use Control+Alt+F1" to return to your terminal, and use Control+C to terminate the X server.'
You might also want to add a link to http://forums.freebsd.org/showthread.php?t=7956 for those of us, like me, who cannot do with Control+Alt+Backspace. :)

I'm going to mark this fixed because it is in "Setting up X Input Devices". It was fixed at least 14 months ago.

Thanks for the info. I've been using setxkbmap in .xinitrc (so, on a per-user basis).
To pass Control-C to the server, I assume you have to be in the login xterm ? Similarly, Control-Alt-F1 will need to be followed by Control-C to kill the server ?
I think the version currently in the book is supposed to still accept Ctrl-Alt-Backspace, this is only for newer releases in the 1.7 series or later.
