Description
The old (6.1.1) book contains this text:
"A pre-made /etc/sysconfig/console file with known settings for several countries was installed with the LFS-Bootscripts package"
However, that example file doesn't contain any UTF-8 aware configurations. Also, there are many examples in the SVN book itself now, and that example file is never referenced. Proposal: remove it from the LFS-bootscripts package.

Another option is just to dump the examples on the page into the example file in the bootscripts tarball.

I have already removed the file in the svn. I did this just before the discussion to merge bootscripts, udev, etc., this was also before Nathan's return. I have heard nothing of direction on that (and do *not* want to have that discussion again here!) so haven't generated a new tarball and will leave the bug open until then. Looking at the instructions in the book, I think it's best to leave the book as is and create a new bootscripts tarball. I or Nathan will put a dated tarball in one of our homedirs as soon as Bruce has #1827 is ready to go.

Actually, no changes are required to bootscripts for #1827 as it doesn't use explicit paths. I did not remove the file yet though, only removed the makefile line. I put up a new dated tarball to get rid of this. Still need an official release and I'd like to get my contib stuff in there before the final.

Deleting the file is not difficult, but rebuilding the bootscripts tarball and using that automatically will take a little time. I should be able to close this out in the next day or two.

The script to generate the bootscripts tarball is complete and the console file is gone. Closing.
