14created. For this configuration to work, you must have an environmental
15variable, NNTPSERVER, set. In normal operation it would be exported into
16the environment by a startup file, like <filename>/etc/profile</filename>
17or <filename>~/.bashrc</filename>. Here we will just put it into the
18environment of the configuration step. We will use the
19<acronym>LFS</acronym> news server in this example, but you should use
20whatever server you prefer.</para>
