13created. For this configuration to work, you must have an environmental
14variable, <envar>NNTPSERVER</envar>, set. In normal operation it would be exported into
15the environment by a startup file, like <filename>/etc/profile</filename>
16or <filename>~/.bashrc</filename>. Here we will just put it into the
17environment of the configuration step. We will use the
18<acronym>LFS</acronym> news server in this example, but you should use
19whatever server you prefer.</para>
