4<para>Before installing the alsa-drivers note that in your kernel
5configuration you should have <userinput>Sound Card Support
6(CONFIG_SOUND)</userinput> enabled but <emphasis>nothing</emphasis> else in
7the Sound menu (with the possible exception of TV Card Mixer support. In
8particular you should <emphasis>not</emphasis> have <userinput>OSS Sound
9Modules</userinput> enabled as this will cause problems when loading the
10alsa driver modules.</para>
