4<para><command>ash</command> is a shell that is the most compliant with the
5Bourne Shell (not to be confused with Bourne Again SHell i.e., <application>Bash</application>
6installed in <acronym>LFS</acronym>) without any additional features.
7Bourne Shell is available on most commercial
8<acronym>UNIX</acronym> systems. Hence <command>ash</command> is useful for testing
9scripts to be <command>sh</command>-compliant. It also has a small memory and space requirements
10compared to the other <command>sh</command>-compliant shells.</para>
