I have been experimenting with kernel configuration options that affect UEFI boot using GRUB. I am certain that CONFIG_DRM_FBDEV_EMULATION=y is necessary. If "#CONFIG_DRM_FBDEV_EMULATION is not set", the boot process hangs and the login prompt never appears. In fact, I didn't even see an error message when I tested this. Just the "Loading Linux-5.19.8" line, then nothing. The only way I could fix it was to power off, then boot a different kernel. |
