I'm no-longer enabling the gold linker, and am building with --disable-debug-symbols, and using CC=gcc CXX=g++ instead of pointing to clang and llvm.

NASM is now recommended, YASM is still also needed.

Currently updating various of my old systems: for those which have gcc-6, I'm still using clang (old version) and llvm-ar etc because gcc-6 gets ICEs. For recent systems (gcc-8 or newer), gcc is fine : not sure about gcc-7 at the moment ;-)"	enhancement	closed	high	9.0	BOOK	SVN	medium	fixed
