Description

The 10 series is now stable.

I have tested the 10 series of mariaDB with both akonadi and amarok, and it works fine for both. Maybe it's time to retire mysql.

No opinion, about this. Would like to hear more opinions.

Just to explain better my comment, I have only build these packages as dependencies or for updating the book.

When Mariadb was introduced, Bruce wanted Mysql to remain.

But now it seems he agrees with you, so, as I said, nothing against.

I can try to see if I can do it, before changing the ticket for myself, or you could do it, please (this being my preference).

Ragnar, I see that, like me, you do not want to do it.

I had a look at the modifications necessary to archive MySQL. I thought it would be very difficult for me. But I think that in all places, we already have MDB "or" MSQL. So, it is a matter of changing those <xref linkend="mysql"/> to external link, and the other modifications done when archiving.

I will change the ticket #4899 from update to archive MySQL.

I will take this ticket, after closing it, will archive MySQL.

If you and/or others have comments or objections, please speak, because I intend to to do these as my first two jobs today.

Armin is asking in ticket #4899 a question similar to the one I did four days ago in this ticket.

I have only used MSQL or MDB to update the book, very basic tests.

Don't know how to reply to Armin's question.

Thus, it seems I am not the appropriate person to handle these two tickets.

Giving back to the book.
