The main reason behind this proposal is that hardware is quite old, there is no 3D support and a lack of maintainership upstream. I have yet to find someone who still owns a hardware driven by any of these drivers and runs LFS. I, for one, have an old Matrox MGA G200 card on my old pentium 3, but that one will never run LFS in the first place (for obvious reasons). It will also ease the developers work in maintaining the drivers for new Xorg Server releases (due to mentioned lack of upstream maintenance) and having to check (built only) at the release time.

It would be wise to ask on mailing lists first if one uses any of the mentioned drivers before dropping them."	task	closed	normal	7.7	BOOK	SVN	medium	fixed
