It is enough to ''install'' (using ''DESTDIR'' or ''actually
installing''), before running the tests.

I was almost removing  ''--disable-static'' from the page, when read it
minutes ago. Then, noticed that there was no ''--disable-static'' in my
script, thus my old dev system has the static library installed.

Then ran a ''DESTDIR'' install with ''--disable-static'' which performs
the tests after the fake install, and tests passed, no difference from
when the switch was not used.

Final test was install the package and restart building and running
