Audacious
Audacious http://audacious-media-player.org is based on Beep Media Player, which was based on xmms, which was a clone of winamp so skins that work for them will probably work for Audacious too. http://audacious-media-player.org/Skins
For more recent versions of audacious, playing a CD requires libcdio and, I think, libcddb. The ability to play it is well hidden (or maybe it's just me) - right click to get the main menu, then select the 'plugin services' submenu and click the 'Play CD' option..
CFLAGS
The audacious build-system is somewhat unconventional in the output it shows, neither automatically verbose, nor the alternative CC ... CCLD ... GEN variant which can use 'make V=1'. If you wish to see what CFLAGS it has picked up. after running configure look at 'buildsys.mk'.
