The debugfs program is a file system debugger. It can be used to examine and change the state of an ext2 file system. dumpe2fs prints the super block and blocks group information for the filesystem present on a specified device. e2fsck and fsck.ext2 are used to check, and optionally repair, Linux second extended filesystems. e2image is used to save critical ext2 filesystem data to a file. e2label will display or change the filesystem label on the ext2 filesystem located on the specified device. fsck is used to check, and optionally repair, a Linux file system. fsck.ext3 is used to check, and optionally repair, a Linux ext3 filesystems. lsattr lists the file attributes on a second extended file system.
