To create a new ext2 file system we use the mke2fs command. 7 Enter the new partition as the only option and the file system will be 8 created. If your partition is hda11, you would run: 5 Once the partition is created, we have to create a new file system on 6 that partition. If you want to create an ext2 file system, use the mke2fs 7 command. If you want to create a reiser file system, use the mkreiserfs 8 command. If you want to create a different kind of file system, use the 9 appropriate command. Enter the new partition as the only option to the 10 command and the file system will be created.
