I find that the ifconfig in inetutils does not accept the command ""ifconfig <interface> 0 up"" as issued by dhclient-script.  (This seems to be a bug in their parameter parsing.)

At the very least you must decide if you want their version or the version in net-tools.  I recommend --disable-ifconfig to the inetutils build.  This would apply to BLFS also.
