A new version of shadow was released. It contains patches gathered from various distributions, the documentation of the login.defs variables, support for SHA password encryption methods, and lots of bug fixes.

The manpages are now generated depending on the configuration. It is recommended to re-generate them if you change some configure options.

Upstream development of the shadow tool suite used to be hosted by the PLD project.

It will now be hosted on Alioth.

The pkg-shadow repository was reorganized to separate upstream maintenance from the Debian package mainenance.

The shadow history was imported using old archives and the last known snapshot of CVS repository on PLD.
