completeness and logical sequencing would seem to require instructions to user in the following order:

1) mkdir /mnt/lfs

2) export LFS=/mnt/lfs

3) echo $LFS

as well as, perhaps, a further test:

4) cd $LFS

in order to determine that one does actually move into the proper directory.



It might well also be of use to mention the permission that should be assigned to /mnt/lfs
