meson has been added just before release, and seems to break upstream automated (travis) builds. I'm not sure it is a good idea to include it in 8.2.

I can only test on Haswell. If anybody has a more recent processor (KabyLake or CannonLake), they are more likely to be affected (possibly in a positive way) by the changes above.
