Description

Source is now out there, waiting for hte official announcement and release notes to see if any security changes.

On the face of it, not much has changed since 62.0beta20, but I can't get the build to use more than one core so it takes forever.

On my old phenom (exactly the same script) it is now building and using all 4 cores at 100%. Weird - on the Ryzen I did a first build with the patch, which I installed and am using, then wondered if I'd don something wrong (apparently not), then did a manual build without the patch to get measurements - again, that only used 1 core (equivalent, i.e. 100% total, not 4x100%).

The phenom build failed in the preparations to install (weird ld error), but returned 'success' status to my script. I'd had some weird kernel messages, currently retrying there - I don't think 77 SBU from the successful machine is a reliable figure :)

Release notes are at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/62.0/releasenotes/ - for the moment no mention of security fixes. Nothing looks particularly relevant, except there is an option to distrust Symantec certificates (they will automatically be distrusted in ff63), and for people who build or install the locales, Canadian English (en-CA) has been added.

Managed to build using 4 cores - and the previous failure was during the build, not the preliminaries for the install (it fell into the install after failing). 25 SBU on a slow box (SBU approx 150 seconds), probably a lot more on faster boxes.

Fixed at r20460 with added comments about the unreliability of the Python build system.
