Description
new version, spotted in the invisible island's FTP while taking a look at the modular X.org build instructions
LINK -> ftp://invisible-island.net/xterm/xterm-213.tgz
don't know if I can test this by myself as I have XFree86 4.6.0 installed, but if someone could tell me it's safe to overwrite my current version of xterm, I'll be the first to test it for all of you

Just a thought I had, but I seem to remember a recent discussion that took place because updating some of Xorg had a negative affect on the overall build, so it was determined to stay with the versions that the Xorg team puts together for a release.
Granted, I don't follow Xorg-7, but didn't want time wasted due to reviewing and testing a version that shouldn't go in the book.
Please disregard my comments if Xterm doesn't apply here, and it doesn't matter which version is installed.

I don't think it applies. xterm is developed outside of xorg.freedesktop, so it's not affected by affected by the Xorg versioning. Also, it's not a library, so you don't risk API breakage or anything like that. I'll certainly build and test it before it's updated, though.

DJ fixed this in r6129. My work here is done.
I think you could overwrite your xterm. However, pay close attention to where the standalone xterm installs its files. By default they won't go where you expect. In particular, you may want --with-app-defaults=/etc/X11/app-defaults if that's where XFree puts the app-defaults.
