Could not find release notes, though.
Perhaps this is the oportunity to do three modifications?
- Randy proposed clarifications.
- Split GLU
- Update
This would be too complicated for me, though.
Randy, would you like to take everything, or prefer to split the three items into three tickets?

Yes, good plan, thanks.
There is no rush for splitting GLU, I think.
If you can, please, would you include some clarification for GLU itself, which does not have introduction? Actually, the only introduction, for Mesa, is one line "Mesa is an OpenGL compatible 3D graphics library" and I wonder if it would be improved, too.

Fixed at r12679. I've only updated freeglut dependency for glu split. I'll update the rest while testing for the new BLFS release if someone else doesn't beat me to it.
Perfect timing. I can do the clarifications and update but splitting GLU could be complicated because of the dependencies of other packages that rely on GLU. Armin gave a nice list so it will take time to check them out. I'll probably do the clarifications and update and then leave the ticket open (or create a new one).
Sound like a good plan?
