libevdev requires python. Optional: check, doxygen, valgrind.
It's probably easiest to combine with xf86-input-synaptics like libva's libva-intel-driver.

Yes.
But I removed all X11 directories and am starting again. For many versions of LFS I did not have a xorg that did not want to start, Will build with the last versions of packages that worked for me for the hybrid system.
Telling that because I don't know if it is this libevdev or anything else that has gone wrong.

Now I am in the position of comment:2: libevdev-1.2.1 and xf86-input-synaptics-1.8.0 installed, other older versions of Xorg packages replace by the one in the book or newer if in the tickets.
X is working "perfectly".
Again, sorry (everybody) for the noise. As written in dev, it was my mistake starting X, nothing to do with the package's versions installed or book's instructions.

You know I cannot test this one, no hardware for that, but I usually build it.
Had to install libevdev-1.2.1, after configure complained.
