Hello,
On the Akonadi page it has Soprano listed as optional, however they seem to have made it a requirement for this version. For some reason this package does not seem to make a CMakeCache.txt file so I was unable to see if turning it off was a possibility.
-- The following REQUIRED packages have not been found:
- Soprano , Storage of semantic data , <http://soprano.sourceforge.net> Soprano is needed for the Nepomuk search backend

You may want to wait here. It seems that akonadi-1.13.0 builds without switch and soprano.

At the ticket for akonadi-1.13.0, this could be considered.
Therefore, I will give back to the book.

Fixed in r13931. This switch is no longer required when building without soprano.

Actually it does create a CMakeCache.txt file, however I seemed to have missed it. Looking through it, shows Soprano library is a hard requirement.
