Thought I was going nuts when I was doing lxde this time around. I saw reference to needing libfm-extra but could not for the life of me find where to get it from, due to the fact that lynx is not very good on the internet.
I had not seen this ticket. It is a real mission to get lxde working properly if you have not installed the libfm-extra library. Took me a few hours of fighting along with a number of re-installations of the full lxde suite. If you do not install the libfm-extra library then you do not have a task bar. I had to actually copy panel into ~/.config/lxpanel/LXDE/panels to force it to reset things.
I actually have installed the rest of the lxde updates that have been released on the project page on sourceforge, so I am pleased to see that they have been moved to 7.6.
