Description ¶
Propose to change the text to reflect what follows, decreasing the possibility of unnecessarily installing the static library.
It is enough to install (using DESTDIR or actually installing), before running the tests.
I was almost removing --disable-static from the page, when read it minutes ago. Then, noticed that there was no --disable-static in my script, thus my old dev system has the static library installed.
Then ran a DESTDIR install with --disable-static which performs the tests after the fake install, and tests passed, no difference from when the switch was not used.
Final test was install the package and restart building and running tests with --disable-static, without DESTDIR.
