Description ¶
There is a continuing fork at https://github.com/bbidulock/icewm/releases with ongoing releases (latest is 1.3.12) and support from some distros. I had hoped to see a reply from the original develoiper on the icewm-users list when this was last mentioned, but nothing happened and I forgot about it.
Meanwhile, this fork is continuing to be maintained. A quick look and DESTDIR install suggests that the sed is no longer needed, but --sysconfdir is now wanted (/usr/etc is a bit too BSDish for me) and --docdir=/usr/share/doc/icewm-1.3.12 to get a versioned doc directory.
The install-docs install-man install-desktop commands are no longer needed.
There are now icewm.desktop and icewm-session.desktop files in /usr/share/xsessions.
I would like to add this to 7.9 (assuming it works ok), but I'm not sure when BLFS is freezing ? I wasn't planning a fresh build, where I can try this, until LFS-7.9 is cut.

OK - I'll drop it onto a 7.8 system, just to be sure.
No freeze yet. Go ahead and update. I plan on lfs-7.9-rc1 on Sunday. The freeze will start when that is released.
