​https://sourceforge.net/p/mlt/bugs/240/ According to that bug, that the code will be removed, but it's in ffmepg, so not sure what will happen. From 'configure --help':

--avformat-shared=path - Link against a shared installation of libavformat (default)

I think just omitting the switch (using shared ffmpeg) is the way to go, but not sure because I have never actually used the software (building kdenlive for the first time). Leaving for somebody more familiar with the software.
