I'd also suggest we give 5.12.0 a try. From the release announcement:
Based on extensive testing over the past 3 months, we believe that Perl 5.12.0 is ready for production deployments.
We won't be releasing within the month anyway, so can wait for 5.12.1 if 5.12.0 shows too many issues.

If I were you, I'd commit the upgrade to 5.12.0, as we did upgrade to 5.10.0, which was considered a "testing" version, and we should do the same here.
