Taken from the thread starting at ​http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/lfs-dev/2011-September/065023.html, Glibc-2.14 causes programs linked to SDL among others to segfault. The patch mentioned in ​http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/lfs-dev/2011-September/065023.html is confirmed to fix the problem

On the subject of patches for Glibc, there's another one mentioned at ​http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/lfs-dev/2011-August/064974.html that fixes an issue with both Firefox and Midori.
