Priority: | normal → high |

Changing to high because running this or one of the other maintained kernels released in the last two days fixes the 'Dirty COW' problem (local privilege escalation) everybody is now aware of, which affects all kernels since 2.6.something.

Just a note, for the record, that this kernel does NOT build with the gold linker. But we don't enable that in LFS, so it is not a problem for the book. I tend to forget to use the gold linker in my manual builds, so I don't know when it broke. I did see reports this week that it was broken in 4.9-rc1.

Now version 4.8.3.
