Description
Handlers are causing the problems, IIRC. It was a long time ago, it needs to be investigated again.

with new build system in CVS, static builds are now possible with only small remaining issues (that are really libc problems, not nALFS problems)

This bug is a duplicate of 620, please mark it as such. I can't imagine wants to have nALFS statically linked but still have the handlers as shared objects, so these issues are one and the same.
