#20004 yes, yes I did

comment:4 by Rahul Chandra, 3 months ago

Highlights:

Hotfix release to address crashes in the Bluetooth HSP/HFP autoswitch functionality that were side-effects of some changes that were part of the role-based linking policy (#682)

Improvements:

wpctl will now properly show a '*' in front of sink filters when they are selected as the default sink (!660)

---

Maybe this is why my headset mic stopped working the other day?

I would stop from updating the book and note the issue in the ticket if an update breaks something really useful to me.

You did. I really dislike it when upstream releases "stable" releases with insufficient testing.

And if I can triage the issue to be an regression in upstream I'll search for or report an issue to them.

Hmm. You're right, I have recreated the crash on my system with a fairly common scenario (for me at least),

  1. Bluetooth Headset using A2DP and my Android phone connected to PC via bluez, listening to audio on the pc,
  2. A phone call comes in and I pick it up, expecting the headset to switch to HSP/HFP mode so I can speak via the headset mic on my phone
  3. Wireplumber crashes requiring a restart of the audio service (for some reason it won't automatically come back up?) but the phone nor headset disconnects, so I have to manually disconnect my phone in order to communicate with the person on the line.

For me personally this is a regression, so I'll update it now but we should definitely use that approach in the future regarding back to back bug-fixes.
