#812 | fixed | Proposal to modify the book TOC in newxml
Description |
I've made a couple of changes to the default generated index.html as a POC. This cleans up the index a bit both for the eyes and to reduce redundant links. I only made the change in the HTML because I couldn't figure out how to do it in the xml. The proposal is at: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/~archaic/index-proposed.html |

#815 | fixed | No packages of glibc-2.3.3 on gnu site
Description |
The glibc instructions is a bit wrong and also missing some description. On this page: http://lfs.oregonstate.edu/lfs/view/cvs/chapter05/glibc.html This snippet is wrong: Official download location for Glibc (2.3.3): ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/glibc/ The latest package on that site is 2.3.2 Maybe there could be a description of how to suck down the cvs version. And how to find out which is the latest version. On this page: http://lfs.oregonstate.edu/lfs/view/cvs/chapter06/glibc.html The same as the above applies and further the configure switch: --without-cvs Is not explained. It could be explained like this: --without-cvs: This is meant to prevent the Makefiles from attempting automatic CVS checkouts when using a CVS snapshot. But it's not actually needed these days. We use it because it suppresses an annoying but harmless warning about a missing autoconf program. |
