#1499 | fixed | GCC full tarball or separate tarballs
Description |
The testing branch and trunk both give a link to gnu to grab gcc with no text regarding whether or not the full or broken up tarball(s) is to be downloaded. Most people not familiar with lfs would presumably grab the full tarball. If this is the desired result, then text needs to change in a couple of places. |

#1506 | fixed | Flex patch updates Lex/Flex file "scan.l" after C file "scan.c"
Description |
I was using Flex-2.5.31 and LFS-BOOK-SVN-20050524. Specifically, the flex-2.5.31-debian_fixes-2.patch updates the Flex file ("scan.l") after the C file ("scan.c"). When Make is executed it sees the Flex file as being newer than the C file and tries to update it. This causes it to realize that it needs Lex/Flex. A simple solution to the problem is easy, touch the pre-generated file ("scan.c") after putting the patch in place. A better, longer-term solution is to update the patch file to update the C file ("scan.c") after Lex/Flex file ("scan.l"). |
