There's https://gitlab.com/graphviz/graphviz/issues/1295 which suggests a workaround, but not sure for how long it would work.

I've fixed both the script and the book's url, but upstream does not have a version in the tarball name any more. When extracted, it does say graphviz-2.4.1/. I looked at the issues at https://gitlab.com/graphviz/graphviz but as far as I can see they are ignored. I could not find any responses to any issue.
Leaving open for now.
