It seems to be release. I avoided yesterday, but found today the release anouncement at:

​http://blog.lxde.org/?p=1306

Better yet, it solved two problems:

  1. problem with the lxpanel not appearing and needing a symlink to fix, not necessary anymore
  1. manual install of /usr/share/applications/lxde-logout.desktop is not needed anymore.

Thus, apart from the update mime hicolor and desktop and start instructions, it is now CMMI.
