ftp links to gentoo mirror broken

When updating xine-lib I noticed that the ftp link to ​ftp://mirror.ovh.net/gentoo-distfiles/ did not resolve, so I removed it.

A quick grep found the following which are also not working: transmission, libmpeg2, docbook-dssl.

Grep also matched unixodbc (old http and ftp links commented, different ftp link is working) and freetype2 (ftp link present as an entity but commented in the Package Information.

There is a list of mirrors at ​https://www.gentoo.org/downloads/mirrors/

ftp.heanet.ie/pub/gentoo errors, failed to change to the directory

​ftp://gentoo.wheel.sk/pub/linux/gentoo/distfiles/ is empty

​ftp://ftp.snt.utwente.nl/pub/os/linux/gentoo/distfiles/ appears to only have files starting 0-9, A-Z, a-awe but that might be a limitation of how much they will return to the browser, because ​ftp://ftp.rnl.tecnico.ulisboa.pt/pub/gentoo/gentoo-distfiles/distfiles/ is similar.

Looking at American (N,S) and many european sites I'm not getting any response (i.e. I opened tabs for them and later for those below in germany and britain which gave me an initial list of directories, but eventually gave up).

From Japan, ​ftp://ftp.iij.ad.jp/pub/linux/gentoo/distfiles/ seems to be giving me a full listing with every package mentioned above, but probably not convenient for most users.

The following British and German sites seem to work and to have everything.
