#1092 closed defect (fixed)

/usr/src/linux causes build problems

Reported by: Randy McMurchy Owned by: bdubbs@…

Severity: normal Keywords:

Description

If the kernel sources are installed in /usr/src/linux, or if a symlink exists from /usr/src/linux to the kernel sources, some packages fail to build.

cdrtools and iptables fail for sure. These two packages and any others which fail to build if /usr/src/linux exist should have a blurb mentioning the problem.

(of course, this is dependant upon the kernel sources being in /usr/src/linux. If for whatever reason someone symlinked the sanitized headers to /usr/src/linux, there may not be issues, so the wording needs to ensure we're talking about raw kernel sources)
