Replying to Bruce Dubbs:
I could not find a change log, [...] The only code changes refer to touchpad gestures.
From the xorg-announce list:
Subject: [ANNOUNCE] xorgproto 2021.5 This release introduces the version 2.4 of the X Input protocol. It contains the addition of the concept of touchpad gestures. Touchpad gesture is an interaction of two or more fingers that can be interpreted as a swipe or a pinch. The previous 2021.4.99.2 development snapshot already contained this feature, this release marks it as officially released. Alex Richardson (1): Define LONG64 if __SIZEOF_LONG__ indicates 64-bit long Povilas Kanapickas (2): specs: Specify XI 2.4 as released xorgproto 2021.5
