Get an error running "make so": 

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find ./soobj/dxmain.o: No such file or directory
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

This release includes the new PDF interpreter (implemented in C rather than PostScript). It is both integrated into Ghostscript (now ENABLED by default), and available as a standalone, PDF only, binary.
