Moved the sed command to the beginning of the instructions, and changed it to modify the configure script instead of the generated Makefile.
Though policy dictates that if a first-time build isn't successful the source should be removed and the tarball re-unpacked, meaning the existing instruction was actually perfectly fine, it *does* make more sense to modify the source of the problem, hence modifying configure instead of the Makefile.
