Some notes:

  1. We should probably be passing --with-loadavg to configure as the default. There is no harm in doing it, and provides additional capability at no charge.
  1. The patch is no longer necessary to build the package.
  1. Howl is now an optional dependency.
  1. Best as I can tell, everything else (including functionality) is about the same
