Builds fine and tests fine, slight increase in overall install size. Patch attached.

I'll apply the patch and add the instruction to install doc. I've tested -Dgtk_doc=true and it works with gi-docgen installed (but gtk-doc not).

gtk-doc seems checked but never used. Maybe I'll raise a MR to remove the check upstream.
