IF you need authorization in kmail you need to add this to configure --with-kio_smtp

When building kdebase, the current instructions build
/opt/kde-3.5.0/lib/kde3/kio_smtp.so /opt/kde-3.5.0/lib/kde3/kio_smtp.la
When building kdepim, there is no mention of a problem or reduced functionality with kmail.
