Update: As it seems, this does not seem all too drastic, as it can only be triggered by some quite esoteric setups. So, I will wait with an SA.

Hmm, I don't think SMTP auth is "esoteric". It is needed to send mail to my ISP mail relay for example... Will make a delayed SA.
