These fonts should have no use on a modern system. And with CSS of some websites (for example, old BLFS release) they can be wrongly matched, resulting a very ugly display.
xorg7-legacy is "required" by tigervnc, but I guess only bdftopcf is really needed.

The introduction to this page says:
"With the introduction of xorg-server-1.19.0 and libXfont2 many people will not need them. There are still a few old packages which might require, or benefit from, these deprecated fonts and so the following packages are shown here."

I'm pretty sure that the Xorg log contains warnings without the xorg7-legacy fonts. For those of us that like clean logs, this package is still needed.
