xdg-utils 1.2.0 contains contributions from over 20 people (thankyou) some of the highlights are listed below.

better support for Plasma6, Deepin, LXQt
partial support for WSL / flatpak's
Numerous other fixes and improvements

... and 

xdg-utils 1.2.1 contains three bugfixes found following the 1.2.0 release:

xdg-icon-resource: Fix for incorrect syntax
documentation: Proper quoting of _MANUALPAGE and _USAGE sections.
The version was not bumped from 1.2.0_beta in the internal scripts.

This also includes a fix for CVE-2020-27748, and the warning in the page can be removed.
